UNIVISION NEW ENGLAND BEGINS NEWS REBROADCAST AT 11:00PM
#1 Spanish language program in its time period for first week
(Hartford, October 21, 2004) – Univision New England began a rebroadcast of its 6:00 p.m. newcast on Monday, October 11th. Noticias Nueva Inglaterra will now repeat at 11:00 p.m. on WUNI-TV 27 (Boston/Providence), WUVN-TV 18 (Hartford/New Haven) and WHTX-LP 43 (Holyoke/Spfld).
During its first week, Noticias Nueva Inglaterra became the #1 Spanish language show during the time period garnering a 65% share of the viewing audience (Households). The success of this program reinforces the importance of Spanish local news in the region.
“We knew that there was a segment out there that missed our 6 p.m. newscast. We hope this airing will catch a whole new group of viewers and build a case for a live 11:00 p.m. newscast soon,” said Alex von Lichtenberg, General Manager of Univision New England.
Sara Suarez, News Director and Co-Anchor, along with Eduardo Guerrero (Co-Anchor) and the rest of the Univision News Team will be bringing important news, weather and sports of the day to the Latino community of New England every night at 6pm and 11pm.
